WC Currency Switch: Changelog

The multi-currency plugin we built for our own client stores is now available to everyone. Shoppers see prices in their own currency from the first visit, and it keeps working behind full page caching and CDNs.

Currency detection

• Picks each visitor’s currency from their country on the first visit.
• Country from a CDN header (Bunny, Cloudflare, CloudFront, Vercel, Fastly), WooCommerce Geolocation, IP2Location.io or freeipapi.com, with a fallback source.
• Location Rules to choose the currency for any country, with Quick Fill for whole currency zones.
• Currency by language with Polylang and TranslatePress.

Exchange rates and pricing

• 154 currencies.
• Five rate providers: Frankfurter (free, no key), ExchangeRate-API, Open Exchange Rates, currencyapi.com and your own JSON URL.
• Fixed exchange rates, rate history with CSV export, and rate update emails.
• Per-currency rounding (.99, .95, .49 or whole numbers), conversion fee, number format and custom symbol.
• Fixed regular and sale prices per product and variation.
• Free shipping minimums, coupon limits and the price filter converted for every currency.

Currency switcher

• Switcher shortcode with a visual generator and live preview.
• Nav menu switcher for theme menus, Bricks, Elementor and other builders.
• Mobile bottom sheet, keyboard support and right-to-left layouts.
• Reload switching, or Instant switching with no page reload (beta).
• Currency converter and exchange rate shortcodes.

Checkout and orders

• Payment methods per currency.
• Settle every order in your store currency, lock the switcher at checkout, or change currency by billing or shipping country.
• The currency and exchange rate saved on every order.
• WooCommerce Analytics in your store currency, with a sync tool for older orders.
• Order emails in the order’s currency.

Speed and caching

• Full page cache and CDN support: one cached page shows every shopper their own currency.
• Setup for Super Page Cache, LiteSpeed, WP Super Cache, xSpeed, WP Rocket and W3 Total Cache.
• Bunny CDN support, including Nahnu Cache Connector for Bunny.net.
• Caches cleared automatically when exchange rates move.
